Woman sexually assaulted as she walked along road in Leicestershire

An investigation has been launched after a woman was sexually assaulted as she walked along a road in Market Harborough.

The incident happened yesterday (28 June) at about 9.20am. The woman told officers she was walking along the road when a man approached her from behind.

Officers have been focusing their inquiry near St Mary in Arden Church and searching an area close to a disused graveyard.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “Officers are carrying out further enquiries after a woman was sexually assaulted in Market Harborough. The victim reported she was approached from behind in Great Bowden Road and assaulted.”

The woman is being supported by specialist officers.
