A man was lucky to escape with minor injuries after his van was crushed between two lorries on the M1.
Police have released the picture of the collision, which happened between Junction 20 and 21 on the northbound side of the M1.
The image shows the van completely crushed between the two lorries, making the driver’s escape even more remarkable.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “The driver of the van in the middle (yes that’s a van) was told to get a lottery ticket. Very happy to report only very slight injuries.”
The lorry drivers did not suffer any serious injuries in the incident.
The crash caused the closure of all four lanes of the northbound carriageway, causing heavy traffic for several hours.
The motorway was re-opened again after 3pm.
