Motorcyclist killed in crash in Leicestershire today

A motorcyclist has sadly died following a collision involving three vehicles in Leicestershire this morning.

The accident happened at 10:45am today (19 September) on the A6006 in Asfordby, near Melton.

The incident involved two motorbikes and a car. One of the motorcyclists, a man in his 60’s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The other rider sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The occupants of the car, a silver Toyota Avensis, were not injured.

The A6006 remains closed at the junction with Loughborough Road, to allow for an investigation of the scene.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.
