Man killed in collision with drug-driver in Leicester named

A man who died in a fatal hit and run collision in Leicester has been named.

The collision happened on Parker Drive in Beaumont Leys on Wednesday afternoon (2 September). 

Michal Michalski, 40, was a HGV driver at Selco Leicester. He was walking home from work when he was hit by a blue Vauxhall Vivario van.

He was taken to hospital where he sadly passed away on 4 September.

A 22-year-old man was arrested at the time of the incident on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving while under the influence of drugs and possession of a class A drug with intent to supply.

He has been released while officers continue their investigation.

Michal’s colleagues have organised a fundraiser in his memory.
