Man killed in crash in Leicestershire village

A man has died in a Leicestershire village after a collision yesterday afternoon.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch with them.

The accident happened at around 3:15pm on Sunday 20 December, in Willoughby Waterleys in Harborough.

The collision involved a single vehicle, a silver Ford Fiesta, which was travelling along Willoughby Road, when it left the road and overturned in a ditch close to the junction with Broughton Lane.

Police said there were four men in the vehicle. Three were taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary with minor injuries and the front seat passenger sustained serious injuries.

He was taken to University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire where he sadly passed away during the night.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle being driven beforehand.
