Man killed in collision with lorry in Leicestershire

A man has died in the early hours of this morning following a collision in Leicestershire.

The man was driving on the A42 northbound near Ashby at 2.45am today (14 October), when the collision took place.

The crash involved two vehicles – a van and a lorry. The man driving the van was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was injured in the incident. The A42 was closed for much of the day between Junctions 12 and 13, to allow for an investigation of the scene.

DC John Borlase said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision itself or saw either of the vehicles beforehand.”

“If you have dashcam installed in your vehicle and captured what happened please get in touch.”
