Date changed for lifting lockdown in Oadby and Wigston

The date on which businesses coming out of lockdown in Oadby and Wigston can reopen has been changed.

The original guidance said businesses in Oadby and Wigston could reopen on Monday (3 August).

However, last night the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) said the date companies who were in lockdown areas could re-open was being brought forward to today.

This means restaurants, cafes, bars and hairdressers in Oadby and Wigston can get back to business from today.

Neil O’Brein, MP for Harborough, Oadby & Wigston, said: “I have double checked with the Department for Health about timings and all restrictions in Oadby and Wigston ended at midnight last night.”

He added “Obviously cafes etc will need some time to get ready to reopen so please be understanding if not open till next week – but free to open now.”
