Driver ‘lucky to be alive’ after Leicestershire crash

These pictures show the remains of a car after a serious crash in Leicestershire.

The crash happened at 11pm on Friday (31 July) and was attended by officers from Charnwood and Coalville Police.

It’s believed the collision involved a single vehicle, which left the road, and ended up destroying the front end of the car.

The car then caught fire and officers said that a “brave member of the public” helped to rescue the driver from the burning wreckage.

Paramedics also attended the scene, however no details on the severity of the driver’s injuries have been revealed.
