Four schools in Leicestershire confirm positive coronavirus cases

Four schools in Leicester and Leicestershire have reported cases of coronavirus amongst staff and pupils.

The schools remain open, however some pupils have been asked to stay at home until further instructions.

Three of the schools are in Leicestershire – All Saints Church of England Primary School in Sapcote, Castle Rock High School in Coalville and Beauchamp College in Oadby.

The school in Sapcote confirmed a pupil had tested positive for coronavirus, while the schools in Coalville and Oadby confirmed a staff member had tested positive.

Castle Rock High School was visited by Prime Minister Boris Johnson at the end of August, as it welcomed pupils back for the first time.

The fourth school is Overdale Primary School in Leicester, which confirmed a child tested positive for the virus. The school is closed to Year 1 pupils only.

The schools are sending letters to concerned parents providing them with an update on the situation.
