Appeal to find family of man after body found in Leicester house

An appeal has been made to try and locate the family of a man who was found dead at his home in Leicester.

David Peter John Deacon, who was 75-year-old, was found unresponsive at his home address in Thurnby Lodge on 5 August.

Mr Deacon’s neighbours were concerned for his welfare and raised the alarm.

Police forced their way into his house where they found Mr Deacon already dead.

Officers have confirmed his death is not being treated as suspicious. However, an appeal has now been issued by the coroner’s office to try and trace his family.

A spokesperson for the coroner’s office said: “We are investigating the death of David Peter John Deacon, who died on August 5 at his home address in the Thurnby Lodge area of Leicester.”

“At present no next of kin has been traced for Mr Deacon and an appeal is being made for any next kin to come forward or any person who may have details of any next kin for Mr Deacon to come forward.”

Anyone who knows Mr Deacon or may have information about his family is asked to contact the coroner’s office on the following email: leicester.coroner@leicester.gov.uk
